The Great Tumbleweed Migration of 2010

Today was the start of the Great Tumbleweed Migration of 2010. Sadly the tumbleweeds ran into the obstacle of our home. Mom took these pictures from our front porch:

You can see that our grill and swing are almost covered when Mom started taking the pictures.

Then the tumbleweeds really started piling up.

And then the grill and swing were almost completely covered! This happened in the time it took Mom to take 6 pictures!

The sound in this video is the wind:

The wind blew so hard this morning that one of the tumbleweeds shattered the window in our bedroom. Now we have a big piece of plywood over the window and the bed is in the middle of the room instead of against the wall. It is after 9:00 p.m. now and the wind is still blowing very hard. Mom says we will have new glass put in the window when the wind stops blowing. I hope she is telling the truth because I cannot see outside now when I sit on the bed.

Even though Mom helped moving the tumbleweeds away from the house my Daddy hurt himself moving them. They left the ones that landed against the back fence and on our back porch because they were blowing in faster than Mom and my Daddy could move them out.

Sushi and Zeke do not like going out in this wind but they have to (hahahahaha). I know it is not nice to laugh at them but now is when I am glad I have a litter box!

I hope you are not having to deal with wind like this. I hope those of you who had a lot of snow are doing OK and that the power is back on for those who lost it. And I hope those of you who had a lot of rain in California did not get flooded out. I hope that our new year does not have this kind of weather!

Kibble Trouble

My woofie Zeke does not really like kibbles. If he never had to eat another kibble in his life he would be very happy. Mom says he has to eat some anyway because he needs them to keep his teeth at least a little bit clean.

So even though they get stinky goodness in the morning Zeke and Sushi can nibble a kibble any time they want because there are always kibbles in a special bowl on the floor near the water dish. Zeke says that if he has to eat kibbles they should be on the floor instead of in a dish ~ to make it easy for him to get to them (he does not always get his way). This is what usually happens when he gets hungry enough for his kibbles:
