A Big Surprise

We had some excitement here tonight. When Mom got home from her day hunting I was sitting on the rug watching under the desk that is next to the door. Sushi came to the door to say hello to Mom and then she started sniffing around the desk too. A little later my Daddy moved some stuff around trying to find whatever we were looking at but he did not see anything.

I got bored so I took a nap under the blue comforter but Sushi would not give up. Finally I heard a lot of noise from the living room so I decided to go see what was going on.

What do you think had happened? Can you guess?

If you guessed that a little mouse ran out from behind the bookcase and tried to escape into the kitchen you would be right! It did not escape very well though because Sushi jumped on it and bit it and it died. That probably should have been my job but Sushi did it very well since I was not in the room.

My Daddy picked it up and put it in a box and took it out to the dumpster. Mom really really hopes that more mice do not try to move into our house. I think she would put poison out under our house if there were not so many snakes and feral cats who live around here.

Tiger Lily, that does sound most exciting! I think you need to go on a hunt and find out where it got in!

Mom has already asked my Daddy to start that hunt. He laughed at her but I think he will look.

I am fairly sure it came in near the stove. I have spent a lot of time staring under the stove lately and when I told him about it he put a trap there.

I was a real mouser at my first Mom;s house! I like to catch them and play with them. When I got tired of playing, i would put them in the bath tub and take a nap. They could not get away, so I could play more later! Mac

Good Job Sushie!

That really sounds like an exciting time for you all when you're just relaxing around at night. Sushi, you did such a great job with the mousie. Thanks for sharing. Have a wonderful day.
